“1697 bottles pure unreal intense and good Blanc de Blancs from Petit Meslier grapes in oak barrels from selection massale in Villers-Allerand with 3 gram dosage. In fact, when Bjönstierne and I visited Nicolas in 2020, we tasted this wine from the barrel and it was one of the biggest shocking experiences of my wine life. Unfortunately, with increased knowledge, you know more and more in advance how wine will taste. Not this time! The wine was equally big and very reminiscent of a big Corton-Charlemagne from Bonneau de Martray despite being made from this obscure grape variety. A nutty slap in the mouth in the most positive sense of the word. What was it like when it was allowed to calm down a bit and become a sparkling finished wine? Just as impressive! Perhaps a little less nutty and the grape had had time to show hints of nettles and currant leaves, but at the same time the gunpowder smoke and stone dust had been accentuated and the roasting is magical. Grand-styled powerful Blanc de Blancs and yet another great unique has taken its place in the fine room of the wine world. 95 point.” – Richard Juhlin
